Each of these models sat for a pose anywhere from 2-5 hours. Nothing longer than that. All of these are done from observation. It gives me a chance to talk to the sitter and get to know him or her a bit better.

Fahad was a student of mine this year (EMS major, artistic anatomy in the fall, life drawing in the spring).

Spring 2019 semester was a blur. This semester there was no more stalling on Henry's brain tumor. Dr. Gutmann was very concerned now. I just wanted my son to get through 9th grade without brain tumor surgery and do okay in his classes--he stresses about his schoolwork. That's all. That's all I wanted. It didn't happen.

Fahad asked what he could do to help. I said "You're my student. Don't worry, I have everything under control."

He said "I will drop your class. I will take it next fall. Now, I am not your student. Tell me how I can help you."

I told him he better finish life drawing strong.
He did.

Amazing individual. He has taught me a lot.
